Newborn Portraits
Having a new baby is a crazy time filled with emotions, hormones, not alot of sleep, but overall a whole lot of love and amazement for this tiny little human that you created. Somehow time slows down and the days can feel very long, yet it goes by soo fast all at the same time! Babies grow and change soo quickly and capturing just how tiny they are in those first few weeks is something that you will treasure forever. Newborn photography is a specialist area and needs a combination of camera skills and baby whispering in order to achieve great results. Over the years learning the safety of photographing newborns has been a priority and I bring these skills and experience to your photoshoot. You can feel confident knowing that I have many techniques for soothing and settling your new wee bundle of cuteness in order to capture images where your bubba is comfortable, happy, relaxed, and safe.
One size does not fit all and at Captured Moments Photography you can choose from a range of options including either posed, styled in studio photoshoot for your newborn or a more relaxed in-home lifestyle session. These options give very different looks to your photographs but either way our goal is to capture all those tiny little details that makes your newborn special, along with the connection and love that you have for this tiny little human. While your newborn is the main focus of the photoshoot, parents and siblings are welcome to be included.
The best time to photograph your newborn is within the first 2 weeks while they are still little, sleepy and flexible. This doesn't mean we cannot photograph older babies but the resulting images can look a little different and some poses may not be possible. If you prefer awake images waiting till your baby is 6-9 weeks is great as by this stage they are able to give some eye contact and we can even sometimes capture those first real smiles. Given that babies don't often arrive on your due date and because we like to photograph them really early I only take on a limited number of newborns each month so it is always best to book in during your pregnancy to avoid the disappointment of missing out. By booking in early this also gives us the opportunity to plan out the styling and feel that you are wanting for your images before bubs arrives and life gets even busier. Want to secure your spot?
